Thing 23 - I've Finished!
I think that the 23 things were greatly helpful. It would have been preferable to me to spend more time on tools such as RSS feeds or other practical tools. The online image generator was fun, but I don't have much practical use for it. Overall, though it was a good program. I hope another one is put together.
Thing 22 - What I've Learned
Well, for starters, I gained practice at blogging. I also appreciated the section on RSS feeds. I kept hearing about them but never had the opportunity to use them. As for continuing education, I simply intend to keep using the tools. I'll most likely keep blogging but not from this blog. Thanks for putting this together! It was a great experience.
Thing 21 - Other Social Networks

I joined Ning at the beginning of the workshop, but have not done much with it since. I was able to find another person from my system using it so if I had had any questions that would have been an excellent place to start. I place the Ning badge underneath the blog archive.
Otherwise, the Bake Space network was of personal interest for me. I enjoy cooking, and that would be a great place to go for questions or suggestions. While I am not a member yet, I may have to join.
Thing 20 - Facebook & MySpace
I checked out the libraries in MySpace. I think it could be a great way to advertise the library as well as programming. It extends the library's role as a social place. I am skeptical about the advertising, though. We have always been very careful to keep our individual website free of advertising. In addition, some of the names of the groups include obscenities which I (and others) would not be comfortable with for a public institution. Overall, I don't think that I would put our library on MySpace because we haven't the resources to monitor it.
Thing 19 - Podcasting
I like podcasts and have listened to them before. I had not used a podcast directory before. The search bar in yahoo was not as nice as the one in podcast.com because I had to be careful to put podcast in the search term. Otherwise, it kept turning up music and expecting me to purchase it. Podcast.com was nice. I especially liked the collapsable directory on the left menu. It made it so easy to find things. I probably won't do any podcasting myself since I have too much compassion to inflict a recording my voice upon other people. However, I may subscribe to one of them.

Thing 18 - You Tube
I chose this video because it is something that I have wanted to do from time to time, especially when we just straightened the area a matter of hours before. I thought You Tube was fairly easy to use. It would be fun to post videos of speakers or events.

Thing 17 - ELM
When I tried to set up an RSS feed on InfoTrac Student Edition, it didn't contain that function. I was able to make it work in EBSCO's Academic Search Premier. It was so simple to set up. It would be a great resource for students to use while working on projects. They wouldn't have to keep searching the databases. The updates would come to them.
Other than the page composer and RSS feeds, I have used the rest of the options before. My previous position in an academic library required extensive research for faculty. Being able to email database articles and write notes in NetLibrary is a huge help when researching.
